Health is NOT a Diet

Health is NOT a Diet: Why True Health Starts with Whole Foods

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about getting healthy?
A diet, right?

But here’s the truth—health is NOT a diet.

Health = wholeness and there is no dieting, restricting or cutting our way to wholeness.

We nourish and add to our body, to arrive at health and wholeness.

And this is especially important when we consider the impact of processed foods on our health.

Our bodies function on a cellular level, and our cells love language is vitamins and minerals.

When we replace real nutrients with artificial ingredients, our cells get pissed off, mutate, die.

Over time, this leads to dis-ease.

You’ve probably experienced this irritation before.

Ever bite into what you think is a chocolate chip cookie, only to discover it’s oatmeal raisin?

Frustrating, right?

Well, that’s how our cells feel when they encounter processed, nutrient-poor food.

They become stressed and mutate —and that’s how illness begins.

Our bodies need clean water, vitamins, and minerals to function properly.

And when we consume artificial ingredients, our body doesn’t know how to process them.

Let’s visualize…

Imagine a bonfire in the woods.

If you throw natural sticks and leaves into the fire, they burn up completely.

But if you toss plastic water bottles or packaging into the fire, they don’t burn—they melt and linger.

Similarly, when we eat processed foods, our digestive system can’t break them down like it does with whole, natural foods.

Instead, these artificial ingredients linger in our body, causing internal stress and inflammation.

This inflammation doesn’t just show up as discomfort in our body—it leads to a range of health issues.

Migraines, constipation, exhaustion and anxiety on the minor end.

Heart disease, diabetes, depression and cancer on the major end.

And a wide array of mental, emotional and physical issues in between, when our body is under attack from these foreign substances.

In the U.S., we’re seeing this more than ever.

And our waistlines tell the story.

While other countries still deal with disease and obesity, the pattern in the U.S. is distinct.

Not only are we more likely to be overweight, but the way we carry weight (specifically around our midsections) can be traced back to the toxins in our food.

Countries that ban harmful ingredients (like pesticides, insecticides, processed sugar and MSG) have far less issues.

In the U.S., we’re exposed to more toxins and our bodies struggle to process and eliminate them, leading to the infamous "gut bulge."

The bottom line…

Health isn’t about following a diet to lose weight.

Health is about nourishing our body with the right foods.

Whole, natural foods and clean water are all our body needs to function at its best.

Being healthy is about more than just being skinny.

It’s about providing our body with the nourishment it needs to thrive—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Ready to Get Started?

Take a moment to write down a typical day’s worth of foods.

Circle the whole foods and see how much of your diet comes from real, nourishing ingredients.

It’s time to get clear on what’s truly fueling your body.
